Maaike Cameron organises croquet in this retirement village and it keeps residents active and entertained. Fun days are organised between Somerset Oaks and Silver Mine in Cape Town.
It is hoped that other retirement villages will join in to form a social league to share the fun of regular matches.

Games are confined to players who are not members of an official club and who do not play to a handicap. The "Fun" day starts with games in the morning, a break for luncheon and the games completed with a prize-giving in the afternoon for the winning team.
