About us

Hermanus Croquet Club was formed in January 2011. With no club house or facilities they can call their own, they use the local cricket field to play on with surrounding trees and a country atmosphere.

This means playing only when there is no cricket match in progress! There is a regular membership of six players boosted by a few “swallows” from overseas. Most of the players have played association croquet and were very keen to learn all about golf croquet.

They soon picked up the rules and tactics of the golf game. Although playing on kikuyu grass did make it a little difficult to control the ball, they showed remarkable skills in running the hoops etc.
